A Note from Erica Whiteley (nee Gooch)

Hi all, I have been chosen as the south west finalist for a children’s short story competition (by Fairy Non Bio).  I am one of eleven finalists from all over the UK whose story about 'Kipper the Dog' has been short listed to win.  I entered the competition as my daughter Madison loves Kipper the Dog stories and I thought how great it would be to write a story about her favourite character doing something that she loves to do - going to the beach hut!   If my story gets the most votes I can win a fab holiday for my family, but better still, the story will be made into a keepsake book for my children Maddi & Jackson.  Check out my story on www.softeningyourworld.com/offers_vote_for_your_favourite.htm and please support me by giving me your vote. (I’m number 8 - South West).   Many thanks, Erica Whiteley.

PS:  Help me get the most votes by telling all your friends and family to vote as well!  Thank you.

Erica was brought up in the village and went to Swimbridge School and her parents live in the village.  I’ve copied Erica’s story below:

“KIPPER GOES TO THE BEACH HUT Kipper woke up, rubbed his eyes and pulled back his blanket. It was a lovely sunny day, perfect for going to the beach hut. Kipper hurriedly packed up his picnic basket, blanket and ball and set off. He was so pleased to see that his friends Pig, Tiger and Jake were already there when he arrived. 'oh goodie' we are going to have such fun today!' They opened up the beach hut, unpacked the picnic basket, and tucked into the scones and cream that Kipper had prepared.  They were yummy! 'What shall we do now' they said excitedly. There is always so much to do at the beach hut! 'Let’s play hide and seek' said Tiger. 'No, let’s play ball' said Pig. 'What about building a sandcastle' said Jake. 'I know' yawned Kipper, rubbing his big full tummy, 'lets have a nap in the deckchair!' 'Good idea they all chuckled!”
