Jim Gardiner, architect from David Wilson Partnership gave an excellent presentation last Wednesday on the Jubilee Hall plans. David Netherway also displayed the streamside garden plans. The plans for BOTH projects are on display in the Jubilee Hall. If you want to take a look please phone Paula on 830514. There is a comment book next to the model — please fill it in. We aim to take the plans to the NDDC Planning Committee in November.
Since April 2008 the Jubilee Hall Committee, with your help, has raised £10,914.56 towards the hall improvement scheme. In addition, we have also secured £12,000 in grants to purchase new chairs, equipment, redecorating, improvements to the kitchen and toilets to make the existing facilities useable in the interim before the new extension. However, we need to raise a further £1,800 to pay the architect and planning fees before the end of the year. We have 4 fundraising events planned over the next 4 months but we want to ensure the hall has a contingency fund of £1,000 in the event of an emergency. We need your help. If you can donate some money or organise an event on behalf of the Jubilee Hall we would be very grateful. For details please contact Andy Comerford (830774), Lee Wadsworth (830705) or Julie Whitton (830311). Thank you.
The Streamside Garden project, organised by David Netherway on behalf of Swimbridge Church, to convert part of the churchyard between the public path and the stream into a community garden has received a visit from the Lottery and they have been very encourag- ing The success of the bid depends on being able to demonstrate community support so please send David your support—it will make a difference.
