Swimbridge Needs A Park

At the Planning Meeting to discuss the Glebe Field on Wednesday 18 March the planning officer recommended that the application should be refused for reasons relating to the number of affordable housing units and the public open space provision. However, after some discussion the committee decided to defer its decision for a  further two months to give the developer the opportunity to resubmit the scheme keeping the housing within the development boundary, providing additional financial justification, clarifying the details of the agricultural tenancy and addressing flood issues.

The Planning Committee indicated that they may be willing to balance the

affordable units against the public open space provision. A meeting is taking place on  Tuesday 21st April between SNAP, the Parish Council, the Diocese and Planning. If anyone has any comments they wish to make to Swimbridge Parklands Committee (also known as SNAP) about any issues connected with the recreational development, please contact:

Judith Clarke (Chair of Swimbridge Parkland Committee) on 830006.
