It also rained at SWIMBRIDGE STREET PARTY but that didn’t put anyone off having a fantastic time.
Note from Amy McLaughlin … The street party on Saturday 23rd August was a great success. There was a really good atmosphere thanks in no small part to all the musicians – Tom Whitton & friends (“The Bryan, Morrish & Whitton Project”, “Temper, Temper, Temperature” and “48 Tiles”), Matt Bluge and Dave Harrison followed by Shine in the evening.

At the risk of sounding like an Oscar acceptance speech……on behalf of Trish, Amy, Paul and Sim we’d like to thank all those who pulled out all the stops to make it the day it was – the organising committee, the stallholders, the barbecuers, bar staff, musicians, the games and raffle organisers, the duck race team, the face painters, the cake and scone bakers, the ice cream maker and everyone who helped to put up marquees, bunting and the fantastic lighting and then take it all down again on Sunday. Thanks to all those who loaned us kit. Thanks too to Cathy Karniewicz who gave up her time to do crafts with the children and to all those who donated the numerous prizes for the raffle. A special mention is deserved here to Dave Harrison and Jewsons, The Milky Way and to Jonathan Marshall for the falconry day. And finally… thanks to everyone who came out and supported the event despite the August weather.
The event raised £918 for the village hall improvement fund and £100 for the pre-school.
Amy has some tins and Tupperware pots left over from the Street Party – if you are missing any please contact Amy on 830089. Thank you.
