Last Thursday Jonathon Hedges, 18 yrs, and Vicky Newton, 16 yrs, gave a FANTASTIC 5 minute pitch to UnLtd Sport Relief Funders at the Devon Playing Fields Assoc AGM near Exeter, and were awarded £1000 for to make their sport project happen. Jonathon and Vicky inspired the funders with their excellent pitch and enthusiasm, and were informed on the day that if they make a success of this project, they could try for another grant of £5k This month PC Glyn Clark asked Steve & Catherine Iles if our young people could have temporary use of their old tennis courts until the park is ready. They agreed (which is fantastic!) and we have contacted SWW for access. The old tennis courts are sited behind the wall next to the hall. Jonathon and Vicky’s project is to fund the public liability insurance, purchase and erect fencing along the stream to make it safe for the younger ones and install a net in front of a neighbours fence so that they don’t get disturbed by the noise of footballs. The Hall Committee will help them manage it. The project is still in its early stages but the aim is to get it up and running so that they have somewhere safe to play during the
