Some villagers took part in Ilfracombe Rotaryís Startrek event on the evening of Sat 1st March around the Valley of Rocks and Lynton & Lynmouth. Startrek is a night time walk using just a compass, a map, clues and a lot of legwork to get around a 16 mile cross-country hike, it is a challenge and this year took our team approx 10 hrs to complete! Ilfracombe Rotary has estimated they have raised approx £52,000 for the ND Hospice, Childrens Hospice SW and other charities. A special mention needs to be given to Neil Young - after walking throughout the night and getting back to Swimbridge at 8.30 am, Neil then played football at 10am in a semi-final match with his D&C Constabulary team!
