The Rev. John Russell – breeder of the Jack Russell Terrier, huntsman,

founder of Swimbridge School & parish priest here for 48 years (1832-80)

An evening of Q&As with Mervyn C. Dalling and other speakers, including a contribution by Swimbridge School, about an outstanding Victorian who – as well as breeding a well-loved terrier - did a great deal for North Devon. Photographs of and about the Rev. John Russell will be on display, plus photographs of Jack Russell Terriers taken by the noted photographer Andy Hughes, who will talk about his forthcoming book on the subject. Also on show, a new book by Henk de Kruyff, Thanks a bunch reverend Russell: A Jack Russell’s veni, vidi, vici. Free of charge.

Coffee Morning – bring-and-buy, bric-à-brac, raffle
