Speeding Through Swimbridge

Last Sunday evening around 8pm a 13 year old local girl lost her beloved cat to an inconsiderate motorist, speeding yet again through Swimbridge.

‘Fish’ a much loved 21⁄2 year old ginger cat was picked up from the side of the road near the school by a neighbour who recognised him and was carried gently back to his home.

He was then rushed to the local vet’s where sadly his head injury was so severe he was put to sleep.

It is a sad fact of life that cats and main roads do not mix, although cats are generally canny creatures.

The question here is how do we slow down cars through our village? And the more worrying thought – today a cat, tomorrow a child.
