I thought it would be appropriate to update you all on the progress of the community garden project for which your support has already been invaluable. It has taken quite some time to get the all the permissions in place in order to be able to complete the Stage 2 Lottery bid, but we have done it! Once we had Planning Consent the final step was obtaining the Diocesan Faculty, the church equivalent consent. This was granted at the end of October and with the paperwork and estimates finalised the bid was checked by our Lottery grant facilitator and sent off to Groundwork UK a few days ago. We need to wait now with fingers crossed.
In the meantime as you will see from the pictures we have had a busy working party to help keep the stream and site tidy, start on re-moving dead trees and making sure we are ready to go. We are also working on a seating and artist idea and of course the Mazzard tree planting will add to the local interest and heritage.
There is lots more to do but with your support and help we will get there.
