Many thanks to everyone who ran in Swimbridge Run or volunteered. We had an amazing 97 volunteers involved in making the event happen through stewarding, registration, cooking 85 breakfasts, etc. Huge thanks to everyone. We raised an amazing £1,600, of which approx £1,100 was profit in aid of the Jubilee Hall. A new cooker is being purchased from some of the profits.
We had 107 entries in the main run and 37 entries in the fun run.
Swimbridge people that won were Ally Ayres who was the 2nd woman in (but 1st in the category of Senior woman). In the junior fun run Sam Whitton came 1st, followed closely by Tyler Newnham in the 12-14 males, Vashti Davies came 1st followed by Jade Knill in the 12-14 females. Peter Dawson came 1st in the 8-11 year boys (and 6th over-all in the fun run). Lauren Slape came 2nd in the 8-11 year girls and Scarlett Davies came joint 3rd. Tyler Newnham, Dylan Davies and Sam Whitton won the best fancy dress as the St Trinian girls.
The prizes were presented by John & Barbara Ackland who organised the previous Swimbridge runs. Huge thanks must go to Simon Oliver and North Devon Road Runners for organising the signs and time-keeping and to our sponsors; Gasmark, SDS Construction, Jack Russell Inn, Looking Good, Mike Ackland Motors, Blue Gallery, Sandyke Farm Dairies, the Everett-Brown family and John & Barbara Ackland for the trophies.
Our thoughts are with Pearce Saunders who was taken ill in St James Church moments before the start of the race. We have been informed Pearce is recovering and is now home.
