In 1984 a group of Swimbridge mums started the villages first playgroup in the Old School Rooms. Since then it has grown and developed into the current pre-school to meet the communities needs and OFSTEDs requirements.
Swimbridge pre-school is open five mornings a week 9.15am-11.45am and is registered to have 12 children aged 3-5 years per session. Two qualified members of staff are employed each session along with a voluntary parent helper. Parent help is done on a rota basis so parents can be involved with their childrens learning at pre-school.
The Pre-school provides a happy, colourful, safe and stimulating environment for learning through play and social interaction, recognising right from wrong, developing independence and building self confidence.
Swimbridge Pre-school is still held in the Old School Rooms with 4 sessions each term held at Swimbridge Primary School in order to familiarise children within a school setting and to make use of the outdoor space available.
