Wow... fantastic ... I can’t believe it!!! by Andy Comerford

On 25th March the Glebe field will be handed over to the Parish Council as our community’s

open space. It also looks like the County Council will give us a good sized grant to get work under way. 50 years of trying is finally reaching its conclusion.

we won’t just be able to walk onto the ground on the 25 and start playing football and enjoying our outdoor space. First, lots of work will need to be undertaken to make the area safe and secure before the Parish Council can throw the gates open to the village.

It has been decided that an opening event will be held on Sunday 1st May, our own Party in the Park —”PARKLIFE” so put this date in your diary and come and enjoy a celebration of having our own park at last. There will also be plenty of opportunities in the coming months to be involved in the creation of our own open space with various workshops, events and fundraising needed to develop the recreation field. We have a blank canvas and can create the park as we want it. Look out for more news on the opening party and a competition to name the park in the very near future.

Be involved.........be excited......and be at the ‘Party’ on Sunday 1st May

The park is to be managed by an amalgamation of the Parish Council and Parklands Committee (as a Sub Committee of the Parish Council)

Swimbridge Parklands will remain active and open to all in Swimbridge to act as fundraisers and event organisers.
